PDEA, BUCOR CREATE MANUAL OF OPERATIONS AGAINST ILLEGAL DRUGS IN ALL PRISONS AND PENAL FARMS
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) have created a joint manual of operations in the conduct of search and seizure of dangerous drugs, controlled precursors and essential chemicals, and drug paraphernalia in all Bureau of Corrections Prison and Penal Farms.
The creation of the manual ensures that the two agencies have synchronized efforts in anti-drug operations in all BuCor prisons and penal farms. The manual encompasses the basic rules and procedure in the standard conduct of Greyhound operations in all national prisons and BuCor penal farms and in the eradication of illegal drugs and activities inside these facilities.
PDEA, DOH-FDA ISSUE ADVISORY AGAINST THE USE OF HEMPSEED OIL AND THEIR DERIVATIVES FROM MARIJUANA
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) joins the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Department of Health (DOH) in prohibiting the purchase and use of hempseed oil products or their varieties and derivatives from cannabis or marijuana.
This is contained in the joint PDEA/DOH-FDA advisory signed by PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr., and DOH Secretary and FDA Acting Director General Janette P. Loreto-Garin who was represented by Undersecretary Kenneth Hartigan-Go. The ceremonial signing was held on September 8, 2015 at the PDEA Activity Area, PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City.
MOA SIGNING BETWEEN PDEA AND SSS
A memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Social Security System was signed to give full support to cover the contractual, job-order and permanent personnel as members under the Social Security Law of the Philippines.
Present at the event were signatories PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G Cacdac, Jr. and SSS Senior Vice President Judy Frances A. See who finalized the agreement in a ceremony held on September 07, 2015 at 9:00 am at the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City.
Under the agreement, the SSS Self-employed program is applicable to all contractual and job-order personnel in the employ of the government but not coverable under the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Law for such personnel to have protection against the hazards of disability, sickness, maternity, old age, death, and other contingencies that SSS offers.Present at the event were signatories PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G Cacdac, Jr. and SSS Senior Vice President Judy Frances A. JOINT PDEA/DOH-FDA ADVISORY PROHIBITING THE USE OF HEMPSEED OIL OR THEIR VARIETIES AND DERIVATIVES FROM CANNABIS OR MARIJUANA IN CONSUMER PRODUCTS AND ITS AUTOMATIC SURRENDER TO PDEA OR FDA
For the protection of the consuming public against hazards to their health and to safeguard them from the harmful effects of dangerous drugs, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hereby adopt and issue this joint advisory to warn the public consumer not to buy or use hempseed oil or their varieties and derivatives from Cannabis or commonly known as “Marijuana” or “Indian Hemp” from the specie of the plant Cannabis Sativa L, including but not limited to, Cannabis Americana, hashish, bhang, guaza, churrus and ganjab or by its any other name and to report and surrender these prohibited products immediately to FDA or PDEA.
