Five million pesos worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, was intercepted at the Mactan Cebu International Airport during an airport interdiction operation on July 20, 2016. Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Isidro S. Lapeña said that the illegal drug, contained in 11 brown postal envelopes, weighing 4,052.1 grams, was discovered in the trolley bag of Li Ming Zhou, 27 years old, a female Chinese national and a native of Guanzhou, China, that led to her arrest.
Combined elements of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police (PNP) neutralized @ Mico Tan and arrested five other drug personalities on July 22, 2016.
Alias Mico Tan, an elusive member of a syndicate involved in illegal drug manufacturing, was principally involved in the establishment of shabu laboratories in Tanza, Cavite in 2003 and at No. 193 Scout Chuatoco St., Quezon City in April 2004 where 35 kilograms of shabu worth Php 1.7 Billion were confiscated. However, Mico Tan was able to elude arrest during the said operations.
A Nigerian national, who is a suspected member of the African Drug Syndicate (ADS), was arrested by anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during an entrapment operation in Marikina City. PDEA Director General Isidro S Lapeña identified the suspect as Ejiye Okoye, alias Martin, 33 years old, a Nigerian national and presently residing in Marikina City.
PDEA, PNP DISMANTLES SHABU LABORATORY AND CHEMICAL WAREHOUSE 317.4 kilos of shabu, chemicals, laboratory equipment worth P1.61 billion confiscated
A clandestine shabu laboratory and chemical warehouse were dismantled by combined elements of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police (PNP) on July 5, 2016. PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña said that agents of PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region (PDEA RO-NCR) under Director Wilkins Villanueva, and PDEA Intelligence and Investigation Service (PDE IIS) under Director Randy Pedroso, in collaboration with operatives of Las Piñas City Police Station, PNP NCRPO, and Souther Police District simultaneously conducted two separate operations in Las PIñas City and Parañaque City which resulted in the dismantling a shabu laboratory and chemical warehouse, respectively.
