A watch-listed drug pusher and his cohort were arrested by anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation in Rosary Heights, Cotabato City on May 5, 2017.

PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña identified the suspects as Saudi Abdullah Kusain, alias Saudi, 23 years old, single, jobless, of Bagua II, Cotabato City; and Saddam Mustapha Mamarinta, 26, welder, a resident of Malagpas, Rosary Heights 10, Cotabato City.

At around 4:30 in the afternoon, elements of PDEA Regional Office – Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA ARMM) under Director Bryan B. Babang arrested Kusain and Mamarinta after they agreed to sell one plastic sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, to a PDEA agent who acted as poseur-buyer in Malagapas, Rosary Heights, Cotabato City.

Confiscated from Kusain and Mamarinta were one black shoulder bag, two pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing five grams worth P7,500, dried marijuana leaves, two disposable lighters, one improvised water pipe, one identification card and the buy-bust money.

Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed in court against Kusain and Mamarinta. They are detained at the PDEA ARMM jail facility.
