Methamphetamine hydrochloride, popularly known as shabu, worth Php 288,000 was confiscated from three suspected drug pushers during a buy-bust operation conducted by agents of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Talisay City, Cebu on March 3, 2017.

PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña said the illegal drug, weighing more or less 80 grams, was seized by agents of PDEA Regional Office 7 (PDEA RO7) under the direct supervision of Regional Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz from suspects identified as Stephanie Cosep y Antiporda, a 27 year-old jobless and resident of Cansojong, Talisay City, Cebu; and Filemon Lariosa y Cañeda, a 45-year old self-employed and resident of Labalan St. Poblacion, Talisay City, Cebu during a buy-bust operation in Poblacion, Talisay City, Cebu at about 6:00 in the morning.

The subject of the buy-bust, a certain Russel Canton alias Tata, was able to elude arrest. He remains at large.

The illegal drug was inside seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, together with a round pouch black bag, when seized by PDEA agents from Canton, Cosep and Lariosa.

Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing in court against Canton, Cosep and Lariosa.
