Simultaneous buy-bust operations were conducted by combined drug law enforcement units in Cavite that resulted in the seizure of shabu, weighing two hundred and twenty-nine (229) kilograms.
PDEA Director General Wilkins M Villanueva said that the two (2) buy-bust operations resulted in the death of two (2) suspects and the arrest of two (2) others.
The total value of the seized illegal drugs is more or less ₱1.58 Billion.
On September 9, 2021 at around 9:27 PM a buy-bust operation was conducted at Block 6, Lot 16 Springville Executive 1 Molino 3, Bacoor, Cavite against Basher P. Bangon, 50 years old, from Cagayan De Oro City; and Danilo T Untavar, 51 years old from Datu Esmael, Dasmarinas, Cavite.
In the course of the transaction, the suspects opened fire on the operatives, which resulted in an armed encounter that led to the death of Bangon and Untavar. Recovered were 1 kilogram of shabu (subject of the buy-bust) and another 180 kilograms in the immediate vicinity of the operation. Also recovered were 2 pistols and 2 identification cards.
Basher Bangon is a top-level drug personality and the leader of the Basher Drug Group. He has direct contact with Chinese Drug Syndicates and his main market are the Visayas and Mindanao areas.
Meanwhile, at around 9:15 PM, a buy-bust operation was conducted at Block 6, Lot 2, Topacio Street, Phase 8, Barangay Magdalo, Bahayang Pag-asa, Imus, Cavite which led to the arrest of Lani B Micoleta, 45 years old; and Aldwin M Micoleta, 47 years old.
Seized evidence were more or less forty-eight (48) kilograms; one (1) mobile phone; two (2) identification cards; two (2) Metrobank Savings Pass Books; one (1) wallet and the boodle money.
DG Villanueva added that these operations are still part of Case Operational Plan "Whisperer" which is supervised by Asec Gregorio R Pimentel, Deputy Director General for Operations and supported by the PDEA Intelligence and Investigation Service under Director Adrian G Alvariño.
He expressed profound gratitude for the untiring support from the participating units from the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), AFP Joint Task Force Noah, NICA, Bureau of Customs and the local police. "We will be relentless in our efforts to suppress the supply of illegal drugs while also sustaining the gains that we have achieved through the Barangay Drug Clearing Program", Villanueva concluded
