A 40-year-old media practitioner who sidelines as a pusher was arrested by anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation in Davao City on February 16, 2017.

PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña identified the suspect as Christopher Autentico Malubay, alias Toping, a media practitioner working for DXGO Radio Station and a resident of YCF Village, Agdao, San Antonio, Davao City, Davao del Sur.

At about 11:50 in the morning, operatives of PDEA Regional Office 11 (PDEA RO11) under the direct supervision of Director Adzhar Albani conducted an entrapment operation in Malubay’s own neighborhood in YCF Village which resulted in his arrest.

Confiscated during the operation were one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing 0.3 gram of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, worth P3,600 and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Malubay will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Twenty minutes later, the same operating unit conducted another entrapment operation in the same area that led to the arrest of Medequillo brothers identified as Bienvenido, Jr., alias JR, 25; and Jessie, alias Jong-Jong, 30. Seized from the siblings were one gram of suspected dried marijuana leaves worth P40.00 and drug paraphernalia.

Cases for violation of Sections 5 and 12, of the anti-drug law await the brothers.
