A suspected big-time Cebu drug pusher who eluded arrest during a buy-bust operation surrendered to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 7 (PDEA RO7) headquarters in Cebu City.

PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña identified the suspect as Rex Andrino Sebumit, alias Abay, 37 years old, a resident of Barangay Tejero, Cebu City.

At around 2:30 in the afternoon of February 12, 2017, agents of PDEA Regional Office 7 (PDEA RO7) under Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz conducted an entrapment operation against Sebumit in Villagonzalo II, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City.

Sebumit managed to elude arrest during the operation but voluntarily surrendered later in the evening at PDEA RO7 Office in Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.

Confiscated during the operation were 15 packs of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 71 grams, with an estimated street value of P177,000.

Sebumit has been under surveillance for a month now and was validated to be involved in the illegal drug trade. He reportedly has the capacity to dispose 50 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu per day and has customers in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City, and Mandaue City.

Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied for filing against Sebumit.
