A notorious drug-pushing couple under tight watch by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was arrested during the implementation of a search warrant in their residence in Cotabato City. PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña identified the suspects as Samsudin Manampen Daud, 44; and his wife Myrah Salik Daud, 45, a barangay treasurer of Barangay Kapinpilan, Northern Kabuntalan, Maguindanao, both residents of 10th Street, Onotan, Don E. Sero Subdivision, RH5, Cotabato City. Samsudin and Myrah are listed as PDEA’s Number 3 regional targeted drug personality and Number 2 provincial priority targeted drug personality in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), respectively. They are members of Baliwan Drug Group operating in Cotabato City. On July 27, 2016, joint elements of PDEA Regional Office-ARMM (PDEA RO-ARMM) under Director Edgar Apalla and Cotabato City Police Office implemented a lawful search in the Daud’s house in Don E. Sero Subdivision resulting in their arrest. Confiscated during the operation were four transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, weighing 20 grams, with an estimated street value of P100,000, six M16 magazines, five 20- rounder magazines and one 30-rounder magazine, one bank book, one debit card, Republic of the Philippines Office of the President PHILIPPINE DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY NIA Northside Road, National Government Center Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City several identification cards of the suspects and two ticklers believed to be containing drug transactions, mobile phone numbers of clients and their vehicles. Cases for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed in court against the Dauds, while additional charges for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act) will be also be charged against them.
