3.MIKO TAN 22July2016Combined elements of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police (PNP) neutralized @ Mico Tan and arrested five other drug personalities on July 22, 2016.

Alias Mico Tan, an elusive member of a syndicate involved in illegal drug manufacturing, was principally involved in the establishment of shabu laboratories in Tanza, Cavite in 2003 and at No. 193 Scout Chuatoco St., Quezon City in April 2004 where 35 kilograms of shabu worth Php 1.7 Billion were confiscated. However, Mico Tan was able to elude arrest during the said operations.

PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña said that agents of PDEA Special Enforcement Service (PDEA SES) under Director Ismael Fajardo, in collaboration with operatives of PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (PNP-AIDG) and Task Force Limbas-PNP Highway Patrol Group (PNP HPG) implemented a search warrant at AAC Henson Trading, No. 21 Pinagbayanan St., Brgy. Lingunan, Valenzuela City. According to an informant, Mico Tan was in the initial stage of establishing a shabu laboratory in the locality.

Sensing the presence of the operatives in the area, Mico Tan Mico Tan hurriedly sped away towards T. Santiago St., Valenzuela City prompting the operating units to pursue him. Upon reaching T. Santiago St., Mico Tan fired at the elements of PNP HPG who were conducting checkpoint operation at the area. He then traded shots with the said operatives that resulted in his death

Confiscated during the operation were 5.809 kilograms of ephedrine, 900 kilograms of sodium hydroxide, 675 kilograms of titanium dioxide, white Honda Civic with plate number ZEB 295, one caliber .45 Remington 1911 pistol, one .45 caliber magazine loaded with three pieces .45 caliber live ammunition, assorted documents, and cash amounting to Php1,493,796.00.

Five other drug personalities were also arrested: Ying Xu y Lei aka Henry Co (Chinese), Xiong He y Bo aka Jerry Ho (Chinese), Xiao He y Zheng (Chinese), Hao He (Chinese), and Ying Xu y Mei aka Bea Payas (Filipino-Chinese).

Case for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of RA 9165 was filed against the suspects.
