USDEA DONATE VEHICLES TO PDEA BOOSTS ANTI-DRUG CAPABILITY
The United States Drug Enforcement Agency (USDEA), together with the United States Embassy to the Philippines, donated vehicles to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) to support the country’s fight against illegal drugs.
The turn-over and signing of deeds of donation was held at the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City, on December 14, 2015. Present during the ceremony were PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac Jr., Deputy Chief Mission Mr. Michael S. Klecheski from the Embassy of the United States of America; Mark O. Juvrud, USDEA Country Attache; and Director Tom Hammang of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the United States Embassy to the Philippines.
The donated vehicles are one Toyota Grandia van, one Toyota Vios and two motorcycles. These will be used by NAIA-IA DITG in the conduct of anti-drugs operations.
“We strongly believe that addressing the drug problem would require strong international cooperation with our neighbors in the Asia-Pacific and we greatly appreciate the support given by the US government,” Cacdac said.
“The USDEA and PDEA are strong partners in the common fight against illicit drug trafficking in the Asia-Pacific region,” Cacdac added.
